India & China

Why are we fighting an ever loosing war ?

The history of mankind is built on new thinking. We use the previous generation of tools as a foundation to build new tools, which in turn build even more powerful tools-a feedback loop that keeps onaccelerating. Some of these innovations change the world forever: from the Agricultural Revolution to Industrial Revolution to Artificial Intelligence.Through war and peace, it is humanity at its most inventive, and sometimes most destructive. The history of technology is the history of us. The library of Baghdad destroyed and levelled to ground by Genghis Khan, the library of Nalanda & Takshila was destroyed by invaders and Britishers, the Muslim scholars of Al-Andalusia wrote many books containing advanced scientific knowledges. Those million of books were destroyed during Spanish reconquista. If only 30 books left behind could lead mankind to nuclear technology, then imagine if more of them had remained we would already had travelled between galaxies in space. The Indus valley civilization provided the world with philosophers and scientists like: Chanakya, Chandragupta, Aryabhatta, Ashoka, Gautama Buddha, Mahaviracharya, Adi Shankara,Varahamihira, Charak, Sushruta, Maharishi Patanjali, Brahmgupta, Baudhayan, Kanad, Nagarjuna, Bhaskaracharya, and the list goes on... The Islamic civilization provided the world with this following philosophers and scientist.Al-kindi, Al Razi, Al ghazali, Ibn Rushd(Averroes), ibn khaldun, al-farabi, IBN Sina (Avecinna), Ibn Tufail (Abubacer), IBN Al Nafees, Al Battani, Ibn Al Haytam(Alhacen), Ibn Bajjah(Avempace), Omar Khyam, Al Biruni, Ibn Zuhr(Avezoar) and the list goes on and on... We have not been taught the history of science and technology, the history we studied was about wars, people killing people, story of kings, the  dynasties, the empires, occupations, conflicts, the rulers. Have we been taught about history of inventors then we could have seen a different story altogether.  Economies are not built overnight but can be destroyed overnight. In this Global competitive world we  cannot take revenge or punish China just by tearing the Chinese chapter from our books or uninstalling chinese apps. We must learn from the history, otherwise we endup doing the same thing which invaders and conquerers of earlier century did by destroying libraries, instead of benefitting from them. Apps become popular because of their utility value. Actually we can learn from China itself, only then we can tackle them. They have their own alternatives of Google, Facebook, twitter, instagram, etc. You name it they have it, Baidu, Gaode maps, WeChat, QQ, tantan, xiaohongshu and the list goes on. We were able to produce our unicorns like ola, flipkart, Paytm but they are no more indian.Once in a while we do it, and after we do it we are sold to foreigners. We are missing the culture of innovation and the ecosystem which supports these cultures.Bangalore, the only Indian city ahead in thinking among us is trying to build the culture and ecosystem, we have a long way to go, we need to set our minds right first.
